  • Title : Giving of the Law
  • Verse : Exodus 19-24
  • Date : June 13, 2010
The children of Israel have arrived at Mount Sinai, the place where the Law is going to be given. God is going to deal graciously with His people. He is going to give them the opportunity to decide whether they want to go on with God leading them - the way He has for the period of time since they left Egypt until they arrived at the mount - or whether they would rather accept and receive the Law.

Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church

www.mdpc.org
Even as a large church (4500 members), Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church is known for its warmth, generosity, and dedication in seeking to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ in the church, the community and the world. MDPC is one of the ten largest congregations in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Presbyterians are distinctive in two major ways: they adhere to a pattern of religious thought known as Reformed theology and a form of government that stresses the active, representational leadership of both ministers and church members. Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with the French lawyer John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him. Some of the principles articulated by John Calvin remain at the core of Presbyterian beliefs.
