Five families gathered in 1961 to start a church in the Virginia suburbs where the Bible would be taught in a way to show how practical it is to our everyday lives. In 1965 our original building was built. In 1980 Lon Solomon became the 4th pastor of MBC.
Under his leadership, the church outgrew the original facility and temporarily moved to Langley High School for 6 years. In 1992, a new auditorium and lobby were added to the original facility.
The church continued to grow tremendously as lives were changed and new ministries were developed. In 1998, the church purchased the National Wildlife Federation headquarters near Tyson's Corner in Virginia to meet the needs of our growing congregation.
The first of a two-phase building program was completed at the end of 2000. The first phase included an interim auditorium with seating for 1150, classroom space for children, students and adults, and one half of the planned parking facility. During the three years of construction necessary to complete Phase II, the church will operate on two campuses, the original facility on Balls Hill Road and the interim location on Route 7. For more information, see Building for Life .
We are a non-denominational church seeking to work together with others to impact our community for Christ.
