Meet The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, a congregation in the southern part of the Kansas City metropolitan area committed to building a church for people who like to ask questions, are a bit skeptical of easy answers, are open to discovering truth and are willing to explore the Christian faith.
Since 1990, when the church was founded, thousands of your friends and neighbors have become a part of The Church of the Resurrection. Chances are, someone you know already attends the church. If you were to ask them why they attend, they would likely tell you that the people of the church are welcoming, the worship services are inspiring, the sermons speak to both the intellect and the heart, and the small groups offer real community.
For many, this was their first experience with Christianity that made sense, was relevant to their daily lives, and left them looking forward to coming back for more.
As a result, over the last five years, The Church of the Resurrection has become one of the largest United Methodist churches in the United States and the largest church in the Kansas City area. With this growth came the challenge of providing adequate facilities for worship and our many ministries for children and youth.
In April 2004 the church opened the doors to a 176,000-square-foot addition which provides state-of-the-art facilities with ample room for growth.
If you are not involved in an area church--maybe you¡¯ve even been turned off by churches or Christians in the past--we hope you¡¯ll explore our website, and consider visiting us some weekend for worship. You may just find this church is right for you.
